Alaska Cruise

We know...we are way overdue for an update! Well, August 23-30 we went on an Alaska cruise. This was such an amazing experience, I highly recommend that everyone experiences this at some time in their life. You hear about how wonderful it is to see the glaciers, but you really have to be there to see and hear them in order to really experience it. On our trip we went to Seattle, Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, and Victoria, B.C. Our favorite town in Alaska was Sitka. It was really cute with wonderful scenery. We were pretty lucky with the weather. It was cold and rainy in Juneau, but it was pretty nice in Sitka and Ketchikan. In Ketchikan we were lucky enough to be there on one of the few days it does not rain each year. Seattle was awesone, we only had about an hour there and would like to go back. Victoria was also a really nice city that we want to go back to, you should definitely visit it. Our favorite part of the trip by far was going to Hubbard Glacier, which is the biggest glacier in North America and the only one that is advancing. We got up pretty close to it in the ship and got to hear the crackling sounds and see the calving ice. Our other favorites were seeing a black bear by the creek at the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, and whale watching from our ship. It was great talking to people and learning about the different cultures in the area. The only bad part was that we felt kind of sick a couple of days on the ship when the water was rough, and the food wasn't too great. But it was awesome waking up each morning in a new city and spending the day outside walking around, seeing all the sites. It was so wonderful seeing all the beautiful scenery and wildlife, which was the main reason for the trip, so we are so happy and grateful that we were able to do it. Especially since it was our last big trip alone as a couple! Here are a few pictures:
